Youth Homes of Mid-America has been in existence since 1943 when it was called the YMCA Boys Home of Iowa. The founder and primary financial supporters of the organization were Hobart and Alta Ross. They believed, "When you get involved with helping youth you have to see it through, you cannot go part way."
Youth Homes offers a wide variety of services to help youth and families including mental health and substance abuse therapy, skill development, family support, out-of-home placement, transitional living, and other community-based programs.
Youth Homes prides ourselves on decades of committed service and on an extraordinary history during which we have shown an impressive ability to change as needed while remaining true to our core values and beliefs.
