Workers Assistance Program, Inc. (WAP) is a nonprofit with a long history of innovative community involvement. WAP invests in the community it serves by providing charitable and educational services. The over-arching mission of WAP is to create better workplaces, schools, and communities. Education, training, counseling, workplace consultation, and employee assistance programs are included in the array of services that support the mission of WAP. WAP has provided mental health promotion and substance abuse prevention since 1977 through its national Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, wellness services, and its extensive statewide prevention and intervention training activities as well as evidence-based community programs. Our approach is based on the National Institute of Medicine model, resiliency theory and recovery models, and incorporates the 5 key steps of the Strategic Prevention Framework. WAP is a private nonprofit Texas-based organization incorporated in 1975, in good standing with the IRS and not listed on the EPLS. WAP has 3 locations in Austin and one in Oklahoma City, OK. We have provided prevention/intervention and behavioral health grant or deliverable-based services for over 30 years.
