The Shilling Group is a dynamic independent bar operator with a portfolio of ten outlets in Edinburgh. There’s a common thread, a clear distinction between all our bars and that, basically, is that each site is distinctive with its own distinctive proposition. No two premises are the same in look or feel or offering. Where each does align, however, is on service. We’re not happy with good; good is just not good enough. For us, it’s about being exceptional, from the product we serve to the people who serve it. Each unit has a manager, assistant manager and duty manager. Every member of our team goes through a full company induction when they join to understand what our expectations are and how they play a part in delivering those expectations. We strive for our staff to be one of the key catalysts for repeat custom and that’s why professional development is an ongoing and central part of our business. We are a company that likes to share our results, our future plans and involve everyone, at all levels in the business, to contribute to the overall company vision.
