Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC)

Tata Motors European Technical Centre (TMETC) is a subsidiary of Tata Motors, created as a UK-based centre of excellence for automotive design and engineering. TMETC provides research and development principally for Tata Motors but also for selected partners in the automotive industry. TMETC's 200 strong workforce complements Tata Motors'​ own engineering skill sets and provides international standards in product design, craftsmanship, quality and reliability, and product delivery across a broad spectrum of the company’s vehicles. The company has also been an active partner in a number of collaborative projects, including trials in autonomous and connected cars and low carbon vehicle technology, and provides expertise in electric and hybrid technology for Tata Motors. TMETC’s facilities include an engineering centre, design studios, and vehicle test and development workshop on several sites around the West Midlands. Later this year TMETC will be relocating its facilities and staff to the new revolutionary National Automotive Innovation Centre (NAIC) at the University of Warwick. The dedicated new building will be one of the largest automotive research and development facilities in Europe and is a joint venture between TMETC, Jaguar Land Rover and Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG).
