About SWIRCA & More
SWIRCA & More is a not-for-profit, public service organization dedicated to enhancing opportunities for independent living in the Southwestern Indiana region. Since 1973, SWIRCA & More has dedicated itself to helping individuals maintain their independence in the face of disabilities and aging. Over the decades, our services and the scope of those we reach have grown tremendously to the point where last year all four avenues of service helped or assisted a record number of individuals.
Here is a quick preview:
- Our Nutrition Department served ¼ million meals this year through our 25 meal sites and home delivered meal routes;
- Our Activity Center had an average attendance of over 3,000 individuals a month participating in our Wellness and Social Activities;
- Our ADRC Resource Hotline received on average 680 calls per month from those within the community searching for answers and help; and
- Our Case Management Department helped close to 6,000 individuals in the last year with each caseworker servicing between 70-80 clients, logging over 56,000 hours assisting them.
