Plastics Engineering & Development, Inc. (PEDI) is a full service provider of Contract Manufacturing and custom plastic injection molding and has been in business since 1985. PEDI is focused on the medical device and life science markets, supplying components and/or finished assembled products. The company operates in a 50,000 sq. ft facility with 28 molding machines ranging in size from 18 ton to 500 ton. The company is located in Carlsbad, CA in Northern San Diego County.

PEDI has the ability to handle all aspects of product development from design, tooling, molding, assembly and packaging. Our contract manufacturing capability include outsourcing parts we do not produce, bar coding and complete assembly. Other capabilities include insert molding, overmolding, ultrasonic welding and secondary operations.

PEDI has additional expertise in molding PEEK™ material for implantable medical products in our certified Class 8 (100,000) clean room. We also offer clean room assembly. PEDI is ISO 13485:2003 certified, FDA registered and has a Device Manufacturing License issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health Food and Drug Branch.
