OIC India Business Council (OIC-IBC) is a multilateral body promoting business, trade and cooperation, technologies and investments between India and Islamic countries. India is the largest democracy in the world with a population of 1350 million and its having second largest Muslim population in the World @195 million. The country has rich Islamic heritage and close business and cultural cooperation with the Arab World and other Muslim countries for over 1250 years. Indian economy @ $3 trillion is poised to be amongst the top three, touching $10 billion in next one decade. Its global position in IT, software, R&D, technologies and professional services, including research, medical, management and education is widely recognised. India is the 2nd largest producer of food and agriculture and also the 2nd largest consumer of a large number of natural and industrial products, energy, petroleum, gases, metals, infra, engineering products, and food and agriculture with its global trade valued at approximately $800 billion annually. The opportunities for trade and investment between India and OIC members is enormous. The OIC-IBC aims at playing an effective role in promoting the technologies, investments, trade as well as cultural cooperation between India and Islamic countries and facilitate deeper business engagements, partnerships and policy and business support.
