About North West Cyber Protect Officers
The North West Regional Organised Crime Unit tackles the most serious and organised crime impacting on the North West. We are a collaboration between six police forces: Cumbria, Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and North Wales.
The Regional Cyber Crime unit specialises in tracking down those engaged in large-scale computer fraud and identity theft, as well as tackling the most serious computer hacking investigations.
The unit also have dedicated Cyber Protect Officers who work with business, education and the general public to raise awareness of the potential risk and impact of Cyber Crime along with the simple steps that can be taken to prevent them becoming victims.
