Maersk Global Service Centres (GSC) is the official shared service centres of the Maersk Group. When the GSC was established in 1999, the main focus was to provide offshoring opportunities and solutions to the shipping and logistics business units of the Group, particularly Maersk Line. But as the GSCs’ competencies grew, other business units of the Group also started migrating their processes to the Global Service Centres.
The GSCs are located in China (Chengdu), the Philippines (Manila) and India (Chennai, Mumbai and Pune). These sites handle service delivery and business relationship management for Maersk business units.
The Maersk Group is a worldwide organisation with about 89,000 employees and offices in around 135 countries. In addition to owning one of the world’s largest shipping companies, Maersk is also involved in a wide range of activities within the energy, shipbuilding, retail and manufacturing industries.
