Our Great British beauty brand started life on the idyllic Isle of Wight back in 1995. Co-founders, Liz Earle and Kim Buckland, paired their beauty business know-how and a passion for botanical ingredients, natural health and wellbeing to create a multi award-winning beauty range – including our much-loved hero, Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser.
Our world expanded in 2015, when we joined Walgreens Boots Alliance. With their full support of our founding philosophy and responsible practices, we are now able to reach more women across the globe, to help them achieve healthy-looking skin. While our founders Liz and Kim are no longer part of the business, we continue to uphold the principles they set out from day one.
Our family now consists of over 800 people across offices on our island home and in London, two flagship stores in Guildford and Ryde, as well as over 170 counters in John Lewis, Fenwick and Boots all across the UK − and we’re still growing!

Our ambition is to keep our 'living' company thriving while staying true to our values of exceptional customer service, a genuine love for confidence-boosting beauty and attention to detail – like sourcing the finest naturally active ingredients, known for their unique efficacy on skin. We strive to play fair, working closely with farmers from around the world, to ensure our botanicals are responsibly and ethically sourced.
