The KTNV, 13 ACTION NEWS mission statement is “together making Las Vegas a better place to live.” The number one way we do that is by producing and airing 45 hours of local news each week, plus providing coverage 24/7 on our website and social media outlets including Facebook. Our television and digital news coverage includes three very important units that sets 13 ACTION NEWS apart from other local TV stations:The Contact 13 You Ask, We Investigate team, responds to hundreds of viewer emails each month. These viewers are frustrated, many having hit a wall when trying to right a wrong.The Emmy award winning Contract 13 Investigates team produces in depth stories, many times holding the powerful in our community accountable, when no one else will.Our Contact 13 Call For Action group of volunteers helps viewers recover hundreds of thousands of dollars each year from consumer purchases gone bad.Hospitality is the number one business in Nevada, but in the past few years, new businesses are starting to diversify the business community. One big player is the renewable energy industry. This business is moving in, building massive solar plants, generating millions of megawatts of power. In North Las Vegas, The Faraday Company, is building a massive electric car factory, while near Reno, Tesla is building the largest lithium ion battery factory in the world, referred to as the gigi-factory.
