And above all else: comfortable, yet stylish...always.In 1979, Karen and her newlywed husband, Lonnie, launched a colorful collection of silk tops from the garage of their small Studio City home. The idea was simple: easy, effortless style with a laid-back luxe California vibe. Karen’s concept of understated glamour caught on quickly. Within a year, Lonnie and Karen moved to a new space downtown to keep up with demand.As Karen’s company grew, so did her family. The birth of her sons, together with changing trends in fashion, encouraged Karen to shift her designs toward expressing a full lifestyle aesthetic. In addition to sportswear, her collection also includes yoga/lounge wear and eyewear.Karen’s commitment to luxury and longevity has never wavered. Each season, Karen seeks out the finest fabrics from all over the world. Most of her sportswear collection is designed and manufactured in Los Angeles. Although they are no longer newlyweds, Karen and Lonnie still continue to own and operate the family-run company.Karen Kane is headquartered in Los Angeles, California. Based out of its 130,000 square foot facility, the company employees over 200, and has showrooms located in New York, Dallas, and Downtown LA. Karen’s collections are sold in most major department stores and over 550 specialty boutiques across the country, as well as in Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia.
