The Israeli Navy is the naval force of the Israel Defense Forces, operating primarily in the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the Gulf of Aqaba and Red Sea. The principal objective of the Israeli Navy is to protect the State of Israel from all maritime threats.

The Israeli Navy is divided into units of special marines forces, missile boats, submarines, naval command, and coast guard.

The "Shayetet 13" naval special forces is one of the IDF's elite units, equivalent to the US Navy SEALS. The reconnaissance unit specializes in sea-to-land incursions, counter-terrorism, maritime intelligence collection, and maritime hostage rescue.
