At icare we proudly deliver insurance and care services to the NSW community through our distinct service lines – dust diseases care, HBCF, lifetime care, self insurance, and workers insurance. icare aims to be a centre of excellence for providing person-centric insurance services, return to work solutions, and care for people who have been severely injured in the workplace or on the road. And, based on our assets ($30bn) and liabilities ($26bn), icare is the largest general insurance service provider in Australia. Service lines: - dust diseases care provides compensation payments and can arrange healthcare for workers with a dust disease and their dependents. - HBCF sits at the end of a comprehensive consumer protection regime for homeowners undertaking residential building projects in NSW where the contract price exceeds $20,000. It provides compensation to homeowners faced with incomplete projects or outstanding statutory builder warranties due to their builder’s death, insolvency or disappearance. - lifetime care provides lifetime care and support for people in NSW severely injured in motor accidents, regardless of who was at fault in the accident. The scheme currently supports around 1,000 people. - self insurance operates the NSW Government’s managed fund schemes. The main scheme is the Treasury Managed Fund (TMF) which manages workers compensation, administration and financial liability for most public sector employers. It also administers the Construction Risk insurance fund for major construction projects undertaken by Government agencies. - workers insurance is the single largest workers compensation insurer in NSW with circa 70% market share. Five scheme agents are currently contracted to manage claims for injured workers and provides policies to employers on its behalf.
