First Baptist Church of Elk Grove

FBC is a large, dynamic, community-minded church with an energetic staff and leadership. We are a multi-ethnic and multi-generational church who is community minded. We are a Bible-teaching / Bible believing church. We believe in God, his son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We offer 3 different styles of music every Sunday morning and our 9:30am service is interpreted for the deaf and hard of hearing. We have programs for all ages including a Sunday School class for children with physical or developmental needs. We have vibrant programs for children, youth, college/young adults, singles, families and seniors. History: Established in 1924 First Baptist is rooted in the people of German descent who settled in the Franklin-Elk Grove community. The congregation began as an extension mission of the First Baptist Church of Lodi. They constructed a building on the corner of Hood Road and Franklin Blvd. and organized the Zion Baptist Church of Franklin in 1924. In 1948, the church relocated to Locust Street in "Old Elk Grove" and changed their name to First Baptist. In 1987, the church purchased 28 acres between Bond and Sheldon Roads for the purpose of relocation in order to better reach the area for Jesus Christ. On January 9, 1994, the church moved to its present campus.
