Elite Care 24 Hour Emergency Centers, licensed by the State of Texas as "freestanding emergency departments" are owned, staffed and operated by emergency physicians. A freestanding emergency department provides the same emergency medical care services found in a traditional hospital emergency department. In many cases, a free standing emergency department will also treat pregnancy complications, pediatric injuries, provide prescription medications and perform psychiatric evaluations.
