Department of Family and Community Services (FACS)
We work to improve the lives of children, adults, families and communities in NSW.
We provide a range of services to aboriginal people, vulnerable children and young people, families, people who are in need of housing, people with disability, their families and carers, and older people.
Our services reach around 450,000 people in NSW.
We help:
> Protect children and young people from abuse and neglect
> Provide foster care and other out-of-home care services
> Seek better socio-economic outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
> Support the aspirations of people with disability in life and work
> Increase the supply of social and affordable housing and address indigenous housing disadvantage
> Deliver services to directly support people experiencing domestic and family violence
> Ensure older people live productive lives, connected to and participating in community life
> Maintain the highest standards of child protection casework practice and attract the best people to the profession.
