Information
Cochrane is a leading independent network of researchers, health professionals, patients and carers from more than 120 countries around the world. Cochrane contributors work together to produce high quality systematic reviews and accessible health information that is free from commercial sponsorship and other conflicts of interest. Our work is recognized as representing an international gold standard for high quality, trusted evidence. Our systematic reviews are published online in the Cochrane Library at www.cochranelibrary.com. Here in Australia, the Australasian Cochrane Centre provides support to a network of over 2,000 Cochrane contributors. Australia is home to a number of key Cochrane Review Groups, including the Kidney and Transplant, Public Health, Breast Cancer, Acute Respiratory Infections and Consumer and Communications Groups. Cochrane Australia supports the publication of systematic reviews on a wide range of topics. All Cochrane reviews are available in accessible formats that policy makers, health professionals and consumers can use to inform healthcare policies, practices and decisions. Cochrane Australia is funded by the Australian Government through the National Health and Medical Research Council. The NHMRC also funds a national subscription to The Cochrane Library, facilitating free access to www.cochranelibrary.com from anywhere in Australia.
