About Broxbourne Council

The Borough of Broxbourne covers 20 square miles in south east Hertfordshire and has a population of about 83,000. Broxbourne's towns of Waltham Cross, Cheshunt, Broxbourne and Hoddesdon lie along the Lea Valley's main roads and railways. The green belt protects the surrounding countryside. To the west, the Borough extends over well-wooded countryside to include Goffs Oak and the popular Lee Valley Park marks the eastern boundary.

Although urbanised with industrial and commercial activity, the whole area retains much of its rural charm and is a favoured place to live for those working in London.

Communications are good with excellent road and rail links. Broxbourne is close both to London and some of the loveliest countryside in the home counties; it is a good place to live, work or locate a business.

The Council places an emphasis on providing residents with value for money services. Its council tax is amongst the lowest in the country, and formal quality accreditation is used to drive forward improvements in service. To date the Council has received several awards, including sixteen Charter Marks, two ISO accreditation's, an Investors in People award, an LGC ‘Entrepreneurial Council of the Year’ award and an iESE 'Remodelling Local Services' Bronze award.

Providing quality services and real value for money requires a quality workforce, and thus we employ staff in a wide range of jobs including solicitors, accountants, residential care workers, maintenance staff etc.
As a good employer we train and develop our staff, provide a variety of working patterns, and a competitive employment package.
