An online network and directory for Black and minority ethnic bloggers in the UK and around the world.
The site was created by Dr Deborah Gabriel in 2011 to showcase blogs authored by African Caribbean people in the UK. It has since expanded to include blogs from around the world and is now open to all bloggers from Black and minority ethnic backgrounds. Dr Gabriel holds a PhD in Media and Cultural Studies; the title of her thesis is: Blogging While Black and British: An Exploratory Study on the Use of Blogs as Social, Cultural and Counterhegemonic Practice. In November 2013 she won the James Thomas Memorial Prize at the Media & Politics Group Annual Conference at Bournemouth University for a research paper based on a chapter of her doctoral thesis.
