Athelas Institute, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was created in 1976 to inspire and enrich the lives of adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.Our mission:“Providing opportunities for growth and personal accomplishment to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities complemented by quality services and meaningful community engagement.”Our vision:“To participate in a world where all people are empowered to live a life of opportunity, individual satisfaction and success.”Athelas has remained a recognized leader in its field for providing creative programs that meet the needs of individuals who use its services.Athelas Institute Services ~¨ Day Opportunities –Services include customized/supportedemployment; community integratedactivities, opportunities & outreach;enhanced vocational; meaningful days.¨ Residential Opportunities –Services for individuals, small groups, andgroup home participants with supervisionand support based on the needs of theindividuals.¨ Family & Individual Support Services -Services are designed to meet the needs ofthe individuals & their families at home, aswell as, enhance community participation.¨ Personal Supports -Services are focused on teaching andenhancing daily living skills, in the homeand community, and are provided directlyto the individual.¨ Community Learning Services –Services are designed to meet the uniqueneeds of our individuals with a focus oncommunity based integration & activity.
