Overview:Zariya uses marketplaces to create better lives at the bottom of the pyramid.
Zariya seeks to educate low income communities in developing countries to recognise the impact of basic public health problems on their families’ health. Zariya aims to provide access to basic product and service solutions by collaborating with public and private sector suppliers.
Market based approaches are used to assist corporates, foundations, funding organizations, NGOs, MFIs and social entrepreneurs to achieve impact in low income communities in a sustainable manner.
Problems like lack of access to sanitation, clean water, menstrual hygiene products, indoor air pollution etc. are exacerbated due to lack of awareness, availability of solutions and affordability barriers. These are addressed by developing and testing innovative business models backed by operational research. Zariya also brokers innovative partnerships with community based organizations, MFIs, vendors and other to address these barriers. All of this with a focus on developing technical and business skills of local entrepreneurs who can sustain impact in target communities.
