The Yakima Valley Pippins joined the summer collegiate West Coast League in 2014. Owned and operated by Pacific Baseball Ventures-Yakima, LLC, the team strives to be a leader in the Yakima Valley in customer service, fan experience, on-field performance and a place where aspiring professionals in the game of baseball can get their first (or best opportunities). The Pippins are part of the PBV-Holdco family of teams, which also owns and operates the Walla Walla Sweets of the WCL. The company always strives to be the best-in-class in all areas of operation.
The Pippins name is derived from the original Yakima Pippins (1937-1941), Yakima's first fully professional team for which Parker Field was constructed. Fans voted to restore the team name in 2014, and PBV's history of creating dynamic brand marks with partner Studio Simon created another unique and fan-friendly presentation that both recognizes the proud history and exciting future of baseball in the Yakima Valley.
