About Without Shape Without Form

Without Shape Without Form (WSWF) is an arts organisation and arts space conceived for interaction and contemplation. It aims to create moments of self-discovery by sharing exciting works, stories and ideas by artists, writers, poets, musicians and performers.

WSWF brings Sikh history and culture to the contemporary context to spark conversations and encourage exchange. Going beyond cultural, racial and religious boundaries, it aims to evoke a sense of curiosity about the internal journey of the mind and how this can positively affect people’s lives.

Promoting awareness, understanding and discussion about Sikhism, the gallery and programme have been created to engage with local communities on a regional, national and international level. The aim is to use the arts as a vehicle through which to explore the relationships between spirituality, Sikh heritage and Gurbani – the universal teachings from the sacred scriptures, Sri Guru Granth Sahib.

WSWF’s purpose is to support artists and to connect people, engaging with them and sharing ideas to help make sense of the world today. Through the stories of historic Sikh figures and the work of artists today, visitors can discover and take part in the spiritual journey of the mind, gaining a greater awareness of alternative approaches to thinking and understanding the mind for inner growth, hope and clarity.
