Overview:The United States is a net food importer, and over 95% of the food we eat in Illinois is not raised in Illinois.
We believe this is a dangerous place to be, so The Land Connection is concentrating on the prime movers – farmland and farmers – in our programming.
Farmers and farmland are two sides to one very precious coin. We incorporated The Land Connection as an educational nonprofit in order to preserve and protect our agricultural heritage by educating farmers and the public about the value of farmland and the need for more local food production and consumption.
Whether you own farmland, want to farm, or just love great food, we invite you to get in touch and join our efforts to ensure healthy food, healthy farms, and healthy communities – now and for future generations
