Information
TechWomen empowers, connects, and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East by providing them access and opportunity to advance their careers and inspire women and girls in their communities. Through mentorship and exchange, TechWomen strengthens participants’ professional capacity, increases mutual understanding between key networks of professionals, and expands girls’ interest in STEM careers by exposing them to female role models. TechWomen supports the United States’ global commitment toward advancing the rights and participation of women and girls around the world by enabling them to reach their full potential. TechWomen is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). It is managed by the Center for Women’s Leadership Initiatives at the Institute of International Education ® (IIE). Social Media Notice The Institute of International Education (“IIE”) makes social media sites like this available to build lasting community, understanding and friendship. By using this social media site, you agree to abide by IIE’s rules and guidelines. IIE encourages your comments and hopes you will join the discussions. IIE, of course, expects that discussions will be conducted with civility and mutual respect; comments are meant to stimulate conversation, not create contention. You agree that you will not post material that is, for instance, unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful, obscene or that infringes the rights of third parties including property, privacy or publicity rights. While IIE does not continually monitor discussions, it reserves the right to remove in its discretion any information or material posted without prior notice, including communications that are abusive, illegal or disruptive.
