About PSA Peugeot Citroen

A Group with 200 years of industrial history, PSA Peugeot Citroën has strong roots in France. The number of automobiles built by the Group in France is 919,900 vehicles in 2013. The Group thereby contributes €4.5 billion to France’s trade balance. It builds a full 85% of engines and gearboxes and 33% of its automobiles in France. In 2013, PSA Peugeot Citroën sold more than 2.8 million vehicles, of which 42% outside Europe. While maintaining strong roots in France with a workforce of 83,930, and in other European countries outside France, with a workforce of 62,664, the french auto manufacturer has decided to focus its development on three key regions: China, Latin America and Russia. These geographical regions, in which 48,088 Group employees live and work, are the main driving forces of global growth, and the regions in which mobility requirements are greatest. Nine Peugeot vehicles (208 XY, 208 GTi, 2008, new 308, new 308 SW, 508, 3008, 5008 and Metropolis), three Citroën vehicles (C3, C4 and C5) and three DS (DS3, DS4, DS5 ) have received the “Origine France Garantie” from the association Pro France, guaranteeing them as built in France. For products to obtain this label, final assembly must take place in France, and 50% of their value must be produced in France. The label gives consumers a guarantee that they are buying a product of French origin. Following a certification process conducted by Bureau Veritas, the label was awarded to fifteen models. The percentage of value produced in France is around 68% on average for these models, and even 75% for the new Peugeot 308. The new 308 models to be marketed in Europe will be built at the PSA plant in Sochaux.
