Overview:ISL's simulations systems for container terminals are in use at over 30 ports worldwide.
Like chess players during a championship terminal operators have to plan the next moves on their terminal strategically as well as tactical.
CHESSCON Capacity: Looking at the proposed vessel mix and the quay layout, terminal's quayside capacity as well as the required size of the stacking area is determined.
CHESSCON Simulation may be used for finding the best layout, comparing various kinds of operation systems (combination of equipment types) and testing strategies like pooling.
CHESSCON Virtual Terminal provides a virtual terminal on your PC, that behaves like the physical one. It is directly coupled to the TOS. Thus the strategies within the TOS may be tested and fine-tuned. Start-up times of terminals are reduced using this technology. Furthermore the control staff may use the system to get trained in special situations and may replay bygone problematic shifts. Thus they may become "Grandmasters" of terminal operation.
All these products are designed to be used by the planner or even by the terminal operator himself. Within the training provided the first models of the terminals are developed together. Afterwards terminal's staff should be in the position to use the models and to change them as necessary due to external demands (layout changes as well as varying equipments data).
