Since 2015 Californian's reported over 5,000 incidents with wildlife on highways, per year, mostly collisions. Over 25% of animals struck were reported left with injuries such as broken backs, legs, necks, or worse. Furthermore, our automobiles (even a Tesla) won't evade the snake in the road just because it may be endangered or of critical concern.
