The Glenelg Shire is ideally located between Adelaide and Melbourne and services a large hinterland including the south east of South Australia, south west Victoria and the Wimmera Mallee. Embracing an area of 6,212 kilometres, the Shire includes the City of Portland, townships of Heywood and Casterton and many small townships and localities. The Discovery Coast is the Western Gateway to the Great Ocean Road and its many natural and historic features, coupled with other unique attractions, make it a destination worth discovering.
We respectfully acknowledge the traditional lands and waters of the Gunditjmara people, Bunganditj people, Jardwadjali people and their respective cultural heritages. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People provide an important contribution to Australia’s cultural heritage and identity, and the contribution they make to the community's prosperity and wellbeing.
Glenelg Shire Council is an equal opportunity employer committed to providing on-going training and development for all employees and providing a safe, flexible, diverse, inclusive, creative and innovative workplace. The Glenelg Shire Council is committed to the Human Rights principles.
