Overview:EPIC Hearing Healthcare (EPIC) was established in 1997 by a panel of ear physicians and healthcare industry executives with the common goal of expanding hearing healthcare horizons. EPIC’s mission is to regulate an otherwise fragmented industry—to establish standardization of care protocols; practice guidelines; product selection and fee schedules-- similar to how other specialty care disciplines have been structured and presented. In so doing, EPIC is the first organization to carve out hearing care in the fashion of other ancillary benefits, delivered via the EPIC Hearing Service Plans.
With over 40% of full-time employees having a diagnosed or suspected hearing problem for which the majority have not sought treatment, EPIC is breaking down the barriers to care and providing accessibility of coverage with low cost benefit solutions, supported by the largest accredited network of audiologists and ENT physicians in the country, and brand name technology by major manufacturers. The EPIC Hearing Service Plans serve to fill the gaps in coverage that exist under traditional benefit plans; improving member care, satisfaction, and retention.
Today, the EPIC Hearing Service Plans cover millions of lives through direct contracts with Managed Care Organizations, Health Plans, Employers, Unions and partnerships with brokers, consultants, and TPA's.
