Civica, Inc. (Civica Rx) was created in late 2018 to secure the supply of important medicines hospitals use every day. WHY CIVICA? Because patients should have the essential medicines they need when they need them. As a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial, nonprofit generic drug company created by hospital systems and philanthropies, Civica’s mission is to ensure quality generic medicines are accessible and affordable to everyone. WHO CIVICA SERVES While serving over 55 health systems and 1,500 hospitals, Civica also supplies the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Department of Defense, and “340B” hospitals caring for vulnerable patients in some of the country’s most underserved areas. As of January 2022, Civica provided nearly 70 million vials of essential medicines, enough to treat over 26 million patients across the U.S. These numbers continue to grow as Civica moves from a start-up to a well-established societal asset.
