About Civic Enterprises

The mission of Civic Enterprises (Civil Vállalkozások) is to foster building of social capital in areas of philanthropic actions, cultural and public issues and in business. We believe that social networks have value and social contacts affect the productivity of individuals and groups. Civic Enterprises strives to create social networks and channel social capital to where it is needed.

Civic Enterprises' main program is the Senior Mentor Program that engages people over 55 in meeting society's greatest challenges. Today, 120 Senior Mentor Program members in 12 cities tutor and mentor elementary school students struggling to learn to read. Research shows that Senior Mentor Program boosts students' academic performance, helps schools and youth-serving organizations become more successful, and enhances the well-being of older adults.
