Search and Rescue
Bristow’s proud heritage includes providing search and rescue (SAR) services in the UK since 1971. Bristow is in full operation at the Sumburgh and Stornoway bases today for Gap SAR coverage in service to the Maritime and Coastguard Agency. Bristow also provides civilian SAR services in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Cyprus, Dutch Antilles, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia and Trinidad.
Bristow Group’s service agreements and equity interests include transportation companies in Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Norway, Russia (Sakhalin) Turkmenistan and the United Kingdom; specifically Eastern Airways in the UK; Líder Aviação, a provider of helicopter and corporate aviation services in Brazil; Cougar Helicopters Inc., located in St. John’s, Newfoundland, and Labrador and Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Petroleum Air Services (PAS), an Egyptian corporation.
Bristow operates the world’s largest commercial helicopter training service provider, Bristow Academy, with locations in Titusville, Florida; New Iberia, Louisiana, Carson City, Nevada, and Gloucester, UK
