About Boys & Girls Clubs Of Fort Wayne

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne was started in 1989 by a small group of community leaders who felt the city needed a place for young boys and girls to go after school and in the summer and with positive reinforcement in an open, accepting environment. The first Club was in an old parks and recreation building located on Minor Street. In the early 1990's two more Clubs were opened in public housing units. A capital campaign was also started to build the current 21,000 square foot facility on Fairfield Avenue. Today there are three sites: Fairfield Club, Brookmill Club and McCormick Club. The organization serves approximately 1,400 registered members annually.

Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne helps kids by providing a positive outlet for their energy instead of leaving them to wander the streets and get into trouble. We teach kids right from wrong and how to get along. The Clubs help kids see that they can be whatever they want to be - regardless of their family situation.
