About Arts Journalism Trust • Arts Angle Vantage

At Arts Journalism Trust, we are professional journalists and educators and youth in the Louisville area who collaborate to create meaningful arts journalism. Our not-for-profit gives youth from diverse backgrounds access to the arts and empowers them to use their voices to create public service arts journalism published on our Arts Angle Vantage platform and in collaborating media outlets. Those outlets have included the Courier Journal, LEO Weekly, The Horizon at Indiana University Southeast and area high school newspapers.

We started our work in 2018 to address:
• increased interest in arts and creativity among young people,
• precipitous decline in arts education,
• continued inequities in access to the arts and media by marginalized populations, and
• decreased arts coverage, which has suffered as the journalism industry faced setbacks with the rise of global technology.

If you are a student, writer or young artist, a parent, a teacher, or someone who believes in the importance of youth voices in our community:
• connect with us
• discover our young journalists’ reporting and insights
• learn more about us and what we offer.
