Clayton Nimz

Clayton Nimz currently serves as a dedicated Biology Teacher at Mountain Range High School, where he leverages his passion for science education to inspire and engage students in understanding the complexities of biological systems. His role extends beyond traditional classroom instruction, as he actively leads professional learning communities (PLCs) to foster collaborative curriculum development and implement best practices in science education. With a strong emphasis on inquiry-based learning, Clayton employs the 5E Lesson Planning model to create dynamic, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking and scientific literacy.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Clayton is a highly involved coach for Mountain Range’s Track and Football teams. As the hurdles coach for Track and Field, he emphasizes technique, discipline, and teamwork, helping student-athletes develop both their athletic skills and their personal resilience. As the defensive backs coach for football, he applies strategic coaching methods to enhance player performance and foster a positive team culture. His coaching expertise not only supports athletic development but also reinforces important life skills such as leadership, perseverance, and collaboration.

Currently pursuing an alternative licensure program for his Professional Educator License (PEL) and a Master of Arts in Teaching, Clayton is committed to ongoing professional growth. His combined expertise in science instruction, curriculum design, and athletic coaching positions him as a versatile educator who effectively integrates STEM education with character-building opportunities. Through his leadership and dedication, Clayton Nimz continues to make a meaningful impact on both his students’ academic success and their personal development.
