Yann Lechelle started his career as an intern at Thomson Reuters in the summer of 1993. After a few months working on new features for the system, he was given the opportunity to leave the company and take a position as a software engineer at Cambridge Animation Systems. There, Lechelle worked on a range of projects, including developing software for movie and game trailers, developing artificial intelligence for a video game, and developing a programming language for animated movies.Lechelle next worked at Sens Digital, where he was responsible for the development of a range of software applications, from web applications to customer support. He also created and led a team of software engineers who developed new software features for the company.In May 2015, Lechelle moved to France and started work as the CEO at Scaleway. There, he was responsible for the development and marketing of the company's software products. He also played a key role in the company's evolution from an startups to a large organization.In September 2018, Lechelle was hired as the CTO/COO of Appsfire. From an early age, Yann Lechelle was determined to make a name for himself as a talented artist. As a second generation student of INSEAD, Yann quickly adopted a legendary creative accelerator and started to forge his own path in the world of painting. As an artist, Yann was2011 elected First Prize Winner of the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Letters (AACL) Prize for his monograph "Shame: A Historical and Moral Design in Paintings from the Sixteenth to the Twenty-First century".Since then, Yann's focus has been primarily on art history and design, both honing his skills as an intellectual and technical artist. His current works focus on the history - both contemporary and historical - of design, with a particular focus on contemporary Japanese design. His projects explore the intersections of design, art and architecture, exploring the legacies of Modernism and Post-Modernism in the process.In recent years, Yann has taken up the challenge of teaching art history and design at various levels of undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate level. Currently he is teach art history and design at the University of Nottingham in the United Kingdom, and is currently working on a postgraduate course on the history and practice of design in the digital age. despite the challenges of his craft, Yann remains committed to learning and exploring new levels of artistry. Recently, Yann has returned to composition, originally Opera, in order to further explore the potential of composition as an artist and educator. He also continues to dabble in prints, lithographs and comics, exploring ways to use these mediums to explore new levels of abstraction, deep esoteric reflection and connection.
