From March 2015 to Present (10 months) Team Lead @ 40-90 person development department; work in a partially remote development team. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Stabilizing dysfunctional product (failed rewrite, no new features deployed for several months, over 250 known bugs) and rebuilding the team. * Leading the team during further development of the product (back-office web application handling international sales, operations and invoicing of one of the leading Online Travel Agencies; over 9 millions of transactions processed). ACHIEVEMENTS: * Stabilizing the product in less than 3 months, in less than a year bringing the defect rate from the highest to lowest in the company's product portfolio, and building the team with the lowest turnover in the company (only 3 people in 5 years). * Inspiring and helping other teams adopt Scrum, Kanban, TDD, BDD, code reviews, and many other good practices. * Starting and running company development blog (http://it.esky.pl/blog/), consistently publishing a post every week. * Convincing management to Open Source some of our code: https://github.com/eskypl. * Leading reorganization of company’s IT recruitment process. * Helping build company’s brand as one of the most recognized IT employers in the region, by presenting on conferences and other forms of promotion. ACHIEVEMENTS: * Initiating and leading company-wide, bottom-up Scrum adoption. * Introducing several quality-oriented development practices (TDD, coding standards, code reviews, pair programming). * Introducing elements of modern architecture (MVC framework, Web Services, OO Javascript, OO CSS design). From May 2006 to September 2010 (4 years 5 months) Founder @ 2 person start-up; working at home, as a side project. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Defining product vision, planning, designing and developing the product. ACHIEVEMENTS: * Launching and further developing the site (reaching 45 k views / month), while being employed full-time at SpilGames. From January 2008 to June 2009 (1 year 6 months) Full Stack Web Developer @ 5 person company; remote work, mostly individual. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Rewriting and further developing podatki.biz, one of the leading tax information portals in Poland (over 350 k registered users). * Creating and maintaining customer-facing and back-office web apps: online shop, CMS, tax calculators, product classification databases, legislative acts browser, and other. ACHIEVEMENTS: * Introducing modern development practices (version control, unit testing). * Successfully self-organizing my work.
