Led the development of PalmOS location based computing resulting in the award winning Geode which integrated GPS and PDA, a forerunner of today's cell phone navigation systems. Managed technical relationships with OEM partners in Japan and Germany. Developed patent-pending vector and raster map technologies resulting in fully interactive maps of the entire US. From February 2000 to July 2001 (1 year 6 months) Senior Consulting Engineer @ Novonyx Oversaw and implemented full-text searching into the award-winning Netscape Servers for NetWare. Responsible for tying Entrust PKI security products to Novell, including the port of Entrust's key servers onto the NetWare platform. From October 1998 to February 2000 (1 year 5 months) Senior Consulting Engineer, Manager @ Zinc Software Helped grow the company from three to 30 people. Led various development teams including the initial port of Zinc Application Framework to Windows. Hired and managed support and consulting services teams. Developed a week long object oriented training and GUI development course resulting in doubling the revenue of the company. Developed core algorithms allowing complex data manipulation with a simple API. From April 1990 to March 1994 (4 years) Director of Engineering @ Millenniata Helped lead research and development for the M-Disc DVD and Blu-Ray archival optical storage technology. Multiple roles also included developing strategic partnerships with foreign manufacturers, product development, and customer relations. From March 2009 to February 2014 (5 years) CTO @ Bluefish Wireless Bluefish Wireless offers a suite of tools designed to allow clients to easily create, manage and deploy branded content and applications to all mobile devices. Core technology components were originally licensed from West Wind Technologies. Responsible for the merger with Bluefish Wireless. Developed strategic relations with Palm, Motorola, Apple, and others. From June 2006 to March 2009 (2 years 10 months) Senior Consulting Engineer @ Novell Led development and consulting on several teams to implement new technologies into Novell products, primarily in the security and cryptography areas. Architected and implemented PKI Certificate Provisioning allowing network users to be securely productive on day one. Implemented SAML (Security Assertion Markup Language) technology into Novell products and worked with other partners for full interoperability. From August 2001 to June 2003 (1 year 11 months) Founder, President @ InfoSphere Productized the ProIndex full-text indexing and retrieval technology and introduced it to the market running on 15 platforms. Managed employees, contract programmers, and partnerships allowing for quick turnaround of custom installations and extended projects. Implemented GUI applications for multi-tier client/server architecture with Win32, Mac, Linux, and Web interfaces. Produced over 10 complete products for partners using ProIndex technology including Ameritech Library Services, IBM/WorldBook, Broderbund, and UITA. Company sold to InfoSphere, Inc. and later to Cadessa (www.cadesa.com). From April 1994 to October 1998 (4 years 7 months) Founder @ The Educated Robot Engineering and business development partner for Hitachi-LG Data Storage.
