Ganjoo holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (January 1993-present), while he also has a law degree (LLM) from DAV Institute, Srinagar (January 1980-January 1993). Ganjoo started his career as a research fellow at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (January 1993-January 1998). After stint as an Assistant Professor at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (January 1998-present), Ganjoo became the new Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Bharatiya Vidya Soudha University, Ranchi (January 2019-present).
