In the application and infrastructure integration space, I have extensive experience of the full project design lifecycle as I have been engaged on many projects from requirements gathering, analysis and design elaboration, design documentation, physical implementation and deliver into production and support. In the data integration and analytics space, I have recent relevant interests in the entire Big Data infrastructure framework ranging from Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, YARN, MapReduce, Flume, Kafka, Storm, Sqoop, etc) to analytical engines such as Spark.

Messaging Middleware Technical Architect @ My main responsibilities in this role consisted of designing, implementing and supporting the entire messaging infrastructure of TNT. This infrastructure comprises the following technology offering; IBM MQ (Versions 6.0, 7.1 and 7.5), IBM WMB (Version 7 and 8), IBM Message Bus (IIB) Version 9, FTP servers, BMC QPASA, IBM DataPower XB62, etc. In this capacity, I was routinely involved in the design reviews of new services, deployment of the designed artifacts in all environments including production, supporting and troubleshooting the various environments including production. I was also involved in the mentoring and knowledge transfer of other team members. From August 2014 to August 2015 (1 year 1 month) Middleware Architect @ In this role, I had two main responsibilities. Firstly, I was in charge of designing a new architectural landscape for the adoption and deployment of IBM Integration Bus Version 9.0. This entailed performing a thorough analysis and review of the existing WebSphere Message Broker Versions 6 and 7 infrastructural estate, reviewing the new IIB Version 9 product, producing detailed design and documentation of the proposed IIB 9 platform, developing installation and administration scripts for building and administering the platform. I also developed migration plans for the migration of the WMB 6 and WMB 7 estate to the proposed IIB 9 platform.
In my other role, I was the key messaging architect responsible for developing a new payment infrastructure for the corporate banking division of the bank. This entailed liaising with the project team (business analysts, applications system architect, project managers, etc) to gather and clarify requirements and designing, implementing and testing the solutions using technologies such as WMQ7.5, WMB7, WAS 8, CICS, PKI, JMS, Apache Tomcat, Connect:Direct. From October 2013 to July 2014 (10 months) Middleware Architect @ As a middleware integration architect, I was responsible for designing the middleware infrastructural backbone using WMQ 6, WebSphere DataPower, WMB 6, SonicESB for integrating a number of key business applications, such as Payment System, Internet Banking System, etc. This entailed designing and building a highly available and resilient WMQ interface to Swift using Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) and building connectivity to various other back-end systems.
I designed and built a new WMB 6 broker environment which was to be used as the main non-functional testing (NFT) environment From May 2013 to September 2013 (5 months) Halifax, United KingdomMiddleware Architect @ My main role during this assignment was to serve as the integration architect for designing and implementing an Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) infrastructure using the IBM products WMQ 6, WMB6, WAS to support a number of key business systems such as trading systems, payment systems and risk and fraud management systems. This infrastructure extended across a number of hardware platform (Windows, AIX, Sun Solaris, Linux, mainframe), across multiple data centers and national boundaries, and supported connectivity to external organizations. The WMQ infrastructure consisted of a set of queue managers built on VCS hardware clustering technology coupled with WMQ clustering for workload balancing and high availability of the entire infrastructure.
On the message broker application development front, I was involved in the design, implemention and deployment into production a number of WMB message flow in ESQL which exposed web services hosted within the broker domain using the secured SOAP transport and TCPIP nodes as the entry point into the domain. These were incorporated into two key business applications, VisionPlus and Falcon. I also developed a number of administrative message flows for the broker domain – a message flow for determining the responsiveness of an execution group/broker by the load balancer and a monitoring message flow for saving accounting and monitoring message into a database.
I developed a middleware object documentation standard using Microsoft Visio. This has now been adopted across the department as the main documentation format for middleware documentation. From August 2011 to February 2013 (1 year 7 months) Senior Middleware Specialist @ As a leading member of the messaging middleware team at HSBC Bank Plc, I was responsible for designing, implementing and supporting the messaging infrastructure within HSBC Bank Plc for a large number of business services using IBM WebSphere family of products (WMQ, WMB, WAS, etc) across a wide range of platforms (IBM zOS, IBM iSeries, AIX, Solaris, Linux, Windows). Other skill sets and technologies employed in this role include PKI, SSL, VCS, shell scripting, ITM/Omegamon.
