Sr HR Manager, Malaysia Asset Operations @ From January 2014 to Present (2 years) Sr Manager - HR, Energy Marketing @ Energy Marketing is the largest provider of natural gas, fuel oil and electricity to commercial and industrial customers in the 21 states in which it operates in the US with a revenue of 10.3b and NI of 111m. Member of the business and functional leadership teams and lead a small team of HR professionals (direct and indirect reporting lines).
Key Successes:
- Mergers & Acquisition: Successfully completed an acquisition between April - November that increased our volumes by 75% in the Midwest and market share to 22%. Performance Management: Embedded a robust performance management culture to drive and differentiate performance.
- Leadership: Lead and Influenced the engagement and embedding leadership culture and behaviours in the business to help drive alignment and business impact through leadership accountability.
- Talent Management: Successfully set up a talent process for the business to strengthen the link between organisation capability and business strategy and embed talent management in our business process for effectiveness.
Hess Corporation announced in March 2013 that it is exiting the downstream business. On 1 Nov 2013 we successfully sold this part of the business to Direct Energy (Centrica UK) for 1.2bn. Played a key role in the diverstment and the successful transition from Energy Marketing business to Direct Energy working closely with the buyer, the transition teams and HR peers to ensure all business and HR related matters were managed effectively. 400+ employees transitioned across to Direct Energy on 1 January 2014. From April 2012 to December 2013 (1 year 9 months) Regional HR Manager, Interim @ Seconded back to London for an interim role for 6 months as the Senior HR lead for the region covering UK, Norway, Denmark, Ghana, Kurdistan, Algeria, Egypt and Libya.
Key Successes:
- HR Leadership: Lead a team of 20 HR professionals in the region (about 600 employees across the region); managing change impact, performance management, setting business and people agenda for the year and HR operations to ensure business continuity though change.
- Strategic HR: Worked closely to coach and facilitate the regional leadership team to drive the business agenda in the region, which included set up of the new Kurdistan office, TUPE of an asset, transitioning the new regional leadership team and managing change in the region across the value chains. E&P Finance:
- Business Outsourcing and Integration: HR Lead for the E&P finance outsourcing project.
- Business Integration and Transformation with Accenture and E&P Finance for all our back office accounting work globally resulting in a 20% reduction in workforce and cost savings of $3.8m per year pre-tax.
- Designed and implemented severance policy for Malaysia and retention approaches globally to ensure retention of employees through transition and key talent post outsourcing.
- Managing change management and employee engagement with leaders and employees across Asia Pacific, US and Europe which enabled smooth transition and minimised impact to the business activities.
- Organisation design for the retained employees: Worked in partnership with the leadership team design the new organisation post outsourcing that is collaborative and in partnership with Accenture while delivering business simplification and cost efficient results.
- Employee transition: Managed exits and deployment that resulted in smooth transitions (3 waves) with Accenture, the business and positive impact on exiting employees.
Commercial:
- Leadership & Change: Lead the transition and change of the leadership team with a new Vice President that allowed for quick transition and business continuity.
- Reward: Lead the review and recommendations on the reward strategy for the Commercial business to help drive business alignment and reward initiatives.
