Plex Research is focused on scientific / R&D and data-scientific aspects of universal data-integration platform transforming a humble search bar into a drug discovery powerhouse. It currently has a staff of 4 people and is looking for a Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) to join its team.Plex Research solved the “maxflow problem” in graph-theoretical data representation – the breakthrough solution avoids “combinatorial explosion” and enables evidence-weighted ranked searches for data sets of unlimited size (>10B data points) in real time. Plex Research also designed a universal data integration workflow paradigm and merged major public biomedical datasets (ChEMBL, PubChem, Pubmed, Google Patents, OpenTarget, ClinicalTrials, CMap/LINCS, Uniprot, Entrez, MSigDB and many others) with clients data in a readily queryable distributed repository, which in combination with the breakthorugh search engine technology enables scientists to draw powerful and actionable insights from the entire universe of all available information. Plex Research's Chief Informatics Officer is responsible for all Informatics and data analysis R&D.Brewed in-house computer vision and machine learning expertise.Directed development of intelligent automated high-throughput in-vivo drug screening and probabilistic classification platforms.Supervised data-driven drug discovery for internal/partnered projects.Developed from scratch, validated and deployed to production an in-silico generator of novel chemical structures with desired biological properties (as defined by the compounds in a training set). This platform, operating on >100,000 high-resolution features, is capable of building a reliable structure-activity models for lead optimization projects where traditional QSAR approaches fail to produce adequate predictive power.Developed “Predictive Causal Networks” approach for deriving an optimal way of achieving a target state in a complex dynamical system. Immediate applications include “optimal disease state reversal” (phenotype normalization) by identifying and acting upon identified “regulatory hubs” (e.g. identifying an optimal gene set that needs to be upregulated/downregulated in a specific way for a disease expression profile to become indistinguishable from a normal sample).Quantitative Research Consultant at Gresham Investment Management from June 2008 to July 2012 (4 years 2 months). Provided expertise in design and implementation of automated trading strategies.Senior Informatics Consultant at sanofi-aventis from July 2003 to July 2006 (3 years 1 month).
