The Eastern Region is comprised of nearly 400 managed Full-Service and Select Service hotels and 1,200 franchised hotels across every major brand (Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, JW, Gaylord, Renaissance, Edition, Autograph, Courtyard, etc.). As the RVP, HR Ty served as the strategic HR business partner to the COO and was responsible for all Human Resource elements across the Eastern Region's operation of 60,000+ associates and more than 8.3 billion dollars in revenue. As part of his role, he was responsible for and execution of all talent management strategies, diversity and inclusion initiatives, organizational capability, compensation, labor relations, talent analytics and training. In addition, Ty oversaw several key initiatives to help enhance operational efficiencies and effectiveness of the hotels and was heavy engaged in the acquisition and conversion of new hotels and brands. Ty also is a board member for Virginia Tech's Hospitality Business School. Responsible for oversight of talent management, organizational capability and key HR efforts for Sales, Reservations and Revenue Management. In addition to these responsibilities, led the HR team responsible for all HR activities in design, communication and execution of US-based sales strategy, Sales Force One. As part of this initiative was responsible for the design and implementation of new compensation, organizational and job design, and hiring of over 3,500 sales associates. These duties also entailed supporting ongoing enhancements of key SFO HR programs, products and services for the post launch phase of the project. Responsible for leading the HR efforts for the Global Sales & Revenue Management baseline assessment and 3-Year Plan ultimately impacting nearly 10,000 S&M associates world-wide. From August 2008 to August 2010 (2 years 1 month) Global HR Integration Officer @ Marriott International As part of the merger of Marriott and Starwood, Ty serves as the Global HR Integration Officer. In this role, Ty is playing a key leadership role in the enterprise talent, organizational design and change management activities related to the pending acquisition. In this role Ty is responsible for helping bring together the combined portfolio of over 6,000 hotels, 500,000+ associates in more than 110 countries.
