A Journey from Accounting Supervisor to CFOAfter rotating various accounting positions from accounting supervisor to accountant, I finally got the opportunity to be a CFO at Nordstrom. As a CFO, I was responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, and analysts' reports. I enjoyed the challenge of doing this complex work and was able to show results to the board of directors and management. I was also able to develop and implement financial management systems that disrupted the business.Some of the things I managed while at Nordstrom include; creating a Janus system to reflect all financials in one place, creating a budgeting process based on what customers were spending and what they would like to buy, adjusting stock price daily on the company's behalf, implementing reverse auctions for vendor incentives, and designing a cash flow model.After leaving Nordstrom, Iowitz and Iplett formed their own accounting firm. We were able to help the company succeed even more and diaper their accounting business area into an entity that could grow.In my time as an accountant, I was able to learn and master various accounting techniques that I now use in my job as a CFO. These techniques include; financial modeling, financial analysis, financial modeling, financial modeling, and financial modeling. I also gained experience in strategic planning, financial modelling, and financial analysis.I am currently a CFO at Caffe Vita, where I am responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, analysts' reports, and developing financial management systems. I enjoy the challenge of doing this complex work and was able to disrupt the company while still being an accountant. I would recommend a journey from accountant to CFO to anyone looking to move up in their career.
