2014 brings new changes for me. I accepted a position with Technical Training Aids in Birmingham, AL as the Operations Manager. TTA is an education equipment, software and services re-seller in the Southeast US. The past two years with the LEGO Education Group was an amazing experience and I thank every one of the team there for welcoming me into their family. It was an honor serving with them to support educators and students across the country.
Specialties: Having worked in and managed various departments across the organizations I have been a part of, I have gained many valuable experiences. I don't know that I would consider any to be specialties, but I have always valued customer service and working closely with our sales team to accomplish the goals we have set for our company. Leadership, sales and sales management are my favorite aspects of my current and past experiences.
Operations Manager @ I am excited to report, that last fall I accepted a position with Technical Training Aids in Birmingham, AL. I officially started with them January 1st, 2014. From January 2014 to Present (2 years) Sales Manager @ My role with LEGO Education was as the Sales Manager leading the Inside Sales Team and direct sales responsibility for the Pacific Northwest sales territory. What can I say about this career experience...I WORKED FOR LEGO! Truly a dream job. The LEGO Education team is amazing and we worked hard but had fun doing it. The LEGO Education products provide fun and inspiring hands-on experiences for students ranging from Pre-Schools to Universities. 2013 was a record setting year, highlighted with the launch of the 3rd generation of Mindstorms, EV3. I formed many friendships with the colleagues and customers I worked with and look forward to continuing them moving forward. From March 2012 to December 2013 (1 year 10 months) Vice President/Eastern Regional Sales Manager @ From August 1995 to March 2012 (16 years 8 months) Operations Manager @ I held the position of Operations Manager for most of my previous years spent with my current employer DEPCO. From August 1995 to June 2008 (12 years 11 months) Hotel Renovation Contractor @ I worked with my uncle's hotel renovation construction company after ending my first round of college. I was enrolled in Pitt State's Construction Management and Engineering program and was having a hard time deciding if this was the right career path for me. I worked with my uncle one summer while in high school and he offered to let me come back to decide if a career in construction was something I wanted to continue. While working with him I performed general construction tasks: receiving incoming shipments, tile, framing and sheet rock installation, wall paper, carpet, painting, installing bathroom vanities, sinks, lighting, etc. The experiences I gained have proven to be extremely valuable. I am able to do general maintenance and small construction around the house and when DEPCO decided to build new facilities, I was able to help the owners when making decisions about the facilities and when dealing with the contractors after the buildings were completed.
