Director of Application Development @ Omeda From October 2017 to February 2018 (5 months) Director, Software Engineering & Product Strategy @ Omeda Omeda offers a suite of database marketing SaaS applications that allow clients to analyze, engage and market to their customers on both a granular and collective scale. --Project Oversight--Overseeing several projects across two development teams with competing aggressive timelines while ensuring all milestones are met or adjusted when needed. Meet with the stakeholders weekly to manage project expectations by discussing and documenting project deliverables and timelines along with communicating the ongoing project progress, risks, and roadblocks throughout each phase.--Agile Development--Work closely with the Product Owners to ensure that the organization’s goals are met by overseeing the Product Roadmap and reviewing it with the Executive Team. Help the Product Owners rate the Business value of new features and assist them with grooming the backlog. Work closely with the Scrum Master to confirm the teams’ commitments are reasonable to accomplish in the 2-week Sprint iteration and participate in Scrum ceremonies such as Sprint Planning, Estimating and Daily Stand Up meetings.--Technical Responsibilities--Lead API and Webform technical point of contact for developers outside the organization. Ensure projects are adhering to the project architecture and best practices. Strong SQL skills used for debugging data related issues as they are identified by clients. Attend technical calls to assist in architecting solutions for project requests.--Team Mgmt--Manage career paths for Developers and Product Owners by meeting throughout the year to discuss progress made towards yearly goals including a yearly formal performance review and salary adjustments. Help celebrate team wins by encouraging individual team members to be proud of the work they accomplish and rewarding them for working hard, meeting aggressive due dates and for just being an awesome teammate. Often a sounding board for ideas and/or an outlet for a team’s frustrations when needed. From August 2015 to September 2017 (2 years 2 months) Greater Chicago AreaManager, API & Web Development @ Omeda Omeda has a suite of over 60 APIs that allow both clients and 3rd party companies to integrate with their database with ease. We also host hundreds of custom built web forms for clients that provide their customers the ability to subscrib to products, authenticate for paywalls or simply update contact information. --Web form development--Set goals and timelines on a client by client basis to ensure all clients were moved off the legacy platform in order to meet the goal provided by Project Management. Assist with the development of the web pages when needed. Provide billable development quotes for requests to create new forms or update existing forms based on requirements gathered from meeting with clients. Ensure all development best practices were being maintained by all developers.--Web Service Development--Primary decision maker for all Web Services development as well as deprecating Web Services that no longer provided business value. Technical point of contact for all client developers for integrating with our API suite. Responsible for User Acceptance Testing for all Web Services updates prior to being released to Production.--Team Management--Meet yearly in August to discuss formal performance review and salary increases. Work with developers to make sure their work and personal life stayed in balance. Set goals for the team as well as at an individual level that were evaluated throughout the year. From August 2012 to July 2015 (3 years) Greater Chicago AreaSoftware Engineer @ Omeda --Lead Web Service Developer--Implemented Database logging for all API requests and responses. This allowed us to reduce the time required to troubleshoot issues as well as easily monitor response times. Develop several monitoring events that would monitor the number of requests and response types during 8 hour intervals throughout the day. Primary developer for building out the Web Service suite from 40 to 60 client facing RESTful APIs utilizing Java and JSON. Work with the Senior Architect to create design documents for new Web Service requests from clients. --Lead Web Page Developer--Help develop the Java backend framework for our current Web Forms solution. Introduce JQuery to the codebase and create necessary validation functions and methods used to do front end validation on all forms. These forms are used to collect subscriber information and payment for B2B magazine subscriptions. Work with new clients to gather requirements for newly requested forms. From December 2011 to July 2012 (8 months) Greater Chicago AreaSenior Subject Matter Expert @ Amdocs --Onsite Development Lead-- Facilitated the offshoring of several mission critical middleware applications. Developer and onsite lead for six offshore resources for these applications. Led the team through implementation, testing and documentation phases as well as attended all estimation, requirement and design meetings. Arranged offshore walkthroughs to review all code and design documents to ensure that quality work was delivered. Coordinated Test environments and Production code deployments for scheduled releases. Attended all deployment meetings and on call for all Production deployments to help fix any defects that were found during deployment. From February 2008 to June 2009 (1 year 5 months) Greater Chicago AreaIT Analyst @ AT&T --Java Developer--Developer on several J2EE mission critical middleware applications for the Integrated Sales Systems group. Responsible for enhancing and maintaining applications that were used by CSRs to collect customer data for multiple service types. The applications utilized Java, EJB, XML, XML Beans. Created Interface Agreement, Detail Design, Unit Testing, and Integration Testing documents and also assisted with High Level Design and Requirements documents. Wrote SQL statements for Production and administered database changes for test environments. Development Lead for several applications that utilized six offshore resources for development. Trained and familiarize offshore team with the applications. Attended all design, development and testing meetings. Developed and maintained a Test Tool that was used to test the back-end processes by the QC group to ensure that all functionality met project requirements. The Test Tool utilized Struts and Servlet/JSP. Attending all deployment meetings and coordinated Test environments and Production code deployments for scheduled releases. On call for Production deployments and fixed any defects that were found during deployment. From 2005 to 2008 (3 years) Greater Chicago AreaAssociate IT Analyst @ AT&T --Java Developer--Developer on several J2EE applications for iCenter, eBill for All group. Enhanced/maintained JSPs that allowed customers to setup auto-bill and combine their Landline and Mobility bills. Developed functionality that allowed CSRs to make payments on multiple accounts during a single transaction with a customer. Utilized Struts and Servlet/JSP for the front-end with an EJB back-end. Created mock-ups that were used to train new users for Sales Force Management group and also created and maintained a CSS that was used throughout the application.
