As I have made a discipline switch from what I studied in college and what my job currently is, I think my most valuable skill is being an effective, independent learner. Any experience where I get to learn something new is a valuable one to me.
-Acquires, configures and provisions desktop and/or laptop computers for new employees, including setting up users in Aspera's internal business systems.
-De-provisions users who leave the company which run a range of operating systems including OS X, Windows, Linux and/or VMware.
-Repairs, or arranges for warranty or for-fee repair, users' computers or peripherals. Tracks repairs through to completion.
-Installs software as needed and corrects software issues encountered by Aspera's users.
-Resolves IT helpdesk issues, communicating status as necessary. From April 2013 to January 2014 (10 months) Freelance Artist @ Does storyboarding, layout, animation, modeling, rigging, lighting, rendering and editing. Primarily works in 3D but can work in 2D as well. Utilizes a wide knowledge range to work quickly and efficiently under tight deadlines. Exercises constant communication with clients to make sure everyone’s time is used effectively. Has worked for companies in the Rochester, NY area and the San Francisco Bay Area. From May 2011 to January 2014 (2 years 9 months) San Francisco Bay AreaAnimation and Visual Effects Lab Technician @ Supervised computer labs specializing in 3D software, provided hardware and software support to hundreds of students while on-site and online, supervised the Academy of Art render farm, insured efficient use of render resources, set-up and imaged new computers, and helped set-up student accounts on the Academy of Art network. From October 2012 to February 2013 (5 months) Lab Assistant @ I worked in the 3DL, a lab with a focus in 3D programs. In addition to maintaining the lab equipment to ensure quality customer service, I provided technical expertise to students and teachers using Maya, Zbrush, Photoshop, and After Effects From February 2010 to May 2011 (1 year 4 months) Render Wrangler @ I was responsible for watching over the renderfarm at RIT. This involved contacting customers when problems arose with their renders, delegating rendering resources fairly and working with the technical staff to solve issues with specific nodes.
