Porter Machinery Worked with BIW end of line machines; front end alignment, head light aiming, roll test, wheel and tire assembly. From 1999 to 2001 (2 years) Electrical Engineer @ Dürr Application Technology - PaintOver the past year I’ve had the pleasure of working on a product designed to disinfect hospital rooms surfaces taking on the fight against hospital acquired infections (HAI). 99.99% effective against: COVID-19 - SARS CoV-2, H1N1, FCV, MERS, and SARS. Did you know that HAIs are among the top 5 leading causes of death in America? Given the current circumstances of the corona virus pandemic, I had no idea how important and relevant this machine would be a year ago. This has been an interesting project full of challenges and obstacles to overcome. I’d like to take the time to share with you my past and present involvement in such an important product. - Conducted hospital disinfection machine workshop with UL.- Redesigned hospital disinfecting machine for compliance with respect to: UL 61010-1 Safety Requirements for Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control, and Laboratory Use Part 1: General Requirements.- Lead international team in product redesign efforts that included electrical, mechanical, and software changes.- Developed electrical drawings and BOM’s in Autocad.- Created BOM’s within SAP.- Oversaw 1 machine rebuild to new design.- Coordinated UL field inspection for the first machine.- UL preliminary report found redesign efforts are 99% compliant. 1% non-compliance was intentional with solution planned out prior to field inspection. The thought was to give inspector something to find. - Inspector sited non-conformance for exceeding 61010-1 limited energy circuits (LEC). I successfully reversed inspector’s opinion with respect to LEC non-conformance by sighting 61010-1 LEC requirements. Inspector agreed redesign complied with 61010-1 LEC and removed from preliminary report. Southfield MiElectrical Engineer @ Dürr - Oversaw and supervised UL 61010-1 project rebuild efforts for remainder of 9 machines. My role in these efforts included project planning, ordering of materials, coordinating with vendors and customers. Developed technical specification for panel shop. Created Gantt charts for recording project schedule, timeline and percentage complete.- Machines were successfully UL certified and marked on time and on budget. 0 cost overruns. - Direct customer communication with respect to engineering efforts, product improvements, open issues and warranty claims. Including tracking and implementation of solutions.- Coordinated with team to develop and implement quality control processes and testing procedures for product completeness. - Lead documentation department for product manual updates.- Investigate product cost reduction strategies and provide information to management.- Design product improvements for later revisions. - Conduct project meetings with customer and management team.- Regularly report out project status to management and customer.- Responds well to design and scope changes.- I work well with the team and customer.
